Perpetual Pity Party

You can attempt to offer a friend

a helping hand or sage advise

but when it becomes a continual saga

you must then stop and think twice

 

There are those who find their comfort zone

in misery and grief

You can attempt to draw them out

but you may be left with disbelief

 

If it is their own desire

to stay enveloped in their doom

to walk away is hard and sad

but you must save yourself from their gloom

 

The arguments will be forthcoming

they will fight you tooth and nail

the truth they do not want to hear

another colossal fail

Psychotic Muse

He listened to his muse

she would whisper in his ear

so wicked and evil

but all the words he needed to hear

 

She slithered her way 

inside his head

until the good things he had

were all but dead

 

Her own life was a circus

she was the head psychotic clown

which is why she languished so wickedly

in bringing others down

 

The man is left with his muse

her cauldron she stirs with glee

she has ripped apart another life

the man may never break free

Coloring Outside of the Lines

I took a chance
and asked you to dance
even though I knew
we would not be in step

You could keep up with the best
I was in awe, I will confess
but your lack of confidence
betrayed you

I sent you back to your crowd
with the bawdy and loud
I don’t think I will ever
color outside of the lines again

Forgiveness

Letting go
is not always easy
when the hurt is like the touch of a razorblade
your blood can hinder you

It takes a long time to realize
that forgiveness
saves yourself
not the tormentor

Take away their power
wipe the slate clean
no more energy will you give them
in mind, body or soul
